Over the next couple of years we will bring to market a number of goods and services around the new "keystone" - Subjects - and related subject-centred services. The core set of services - InformationGPS and TheSubjectStore - will support distinct business lines serving specific market segments and we will position those business lines as takeover targets. We will use any takeover or trade sale as a vector for injecting Pensive core values - the importance of trusted and secure information assets management as well as "subject-centricity" - into the vision of any target entity.
All business lines will share the same, common, hosted service for the storage and management of subjects - TheSubjectStore. This service will become monetizable over time as a distinct service, through premium services to the end user or (with user permission) advertising targeted at specific subjects.
The first of these business lines will be musicDNA™ which will be available in Spring 2010, followed by The Living Business Plan™ which will be available in Summer 2010, and then Face-to-Face-to-Web™ which will available in Autumn 2010.
musicDNA™
Imagine a service that will know everything about music: that will know who Beethoven is, that will know every version of every song that John Lennon wrote, that will know where to get the lyrics or the mp3 and even will know the time and place of every gig and concert in London, Brussels and Paris. That’s musicDNA™.
It knows what you listen to in iTunes and remembers when and where you were at the time. It knows who you are too – so you can see at a glance where your musical influences come from. That’s your musicDNA™.
This is just the beginning. musicDNA™ is a new way of discovering and navigating content – travelling through the world of pop, jazz, classical, whatever, zooming in for more detail and out for less, focusing on what you’re interested in and filtering out what you’re not. Follow the timeline of any piece of music – when it was written, who’s performed it, who’s listening to it right now.
It’s a new way of organizing content and sharing it too. You can attach links to things on the web and, with the downloadable version for Mac and PC, things that you have on your own computer or network: recordings, pictures, scores, blog entries. Since musicDNA™ works both offline and up in the Cloud with everything else, you can access your content from anywhere and share it with friends and colleagues – always up-to-date and keeping you in control of what you let others see.
The Living Business Plan™
All goal-driven organizations (whether private companies or public authorities and agencies) rely heavily on business information in order to make sound and substantiated decisions. Being well-informed is key. It helps manage an organization effectively; implement strategy successfully; sustain competitive advantage and growth; and generally benefit clients and customers.
Pensive’s Living Business Plan™ provides the most effective means to manage the organization's information assets, together with mechanisms to "navigate" between, search for, and query them as distinct things. In supporting the Information-Driven Enterprise, Pensive’s Living Business Plan™ provides users with simple but clear and powerful oversight of the key information that drives the organization, from information in the high-level Business Plan through to the daily information flows of the organization.
It provides a way of creating and moving through a "map" of your information rather than digging through the data itself, in effect a "Business Information GPS" to help managers find their way easily around the complex information territory of their organization. Pensive’s solutions will help fill the gap between the business in theory as conceived on paper (business plans, financials, etc.) and daily reality.
Living Business Plan™ will:- make it easier for organizations to leverage that information in order to deliver better results in their work;
- help managers access, look after and share key information as well as build, query and navigate high-level "information maps";
- help organizations by providing them with clear and incisive views into their key corporate information assets;
- help organizations maximise the information contained in their operational systems by providing gateways to extract summary information that can be linked to the key components in the Business Plan. Valuable time and money is wasted by organizations in putting critical information together and making use of it. More effort goes into managing the software than into managing the information.
Face-to-Face-to-Web™
Face-to-Face-to-Web™ will be a business line that facilitates business and other connections using interactive touch-screen computers and intelligent social networking in live, face-to-face situations.
We propose to deploy a number of Surface™ devices from Microsoft, running software developed by Pensive. The Surface is a large coffee-table-sized and styled touch-screen interactive computer. It is unique among touch-screen systems in that it allows up to 52 simultaneous interactions.
Our solution combines three elements:
- Capturing information from event delegates and visitors from (pre-)registration data. Pensive will provide tools and assistance in order to ensure that data entered and captured uses a common information model, in order to guarantee interoperability;
- Including visitors in a growing “map” of relationships, between delegates, visitors, companies, exhibitors, press, attractions and opportunities. This will be achieved using “InformationGPS” solutions provided by Pensive;
- Allowing the visitor to interact with other visitors via the Surface touch-screen computers;
- Discover points in common with other people around the table;
- Be guided to the information and services most relevant to them – whether available at the particular event or from sponsors, partners or other visitors;
- Allow users to leave a “virtual business card” with any information or service supplier.
